I don't really care about any of the additional gameplay features bound to be introduced (or reintroduced) for FIFA12. All I'm interested in is EA fixing two things:
1) The Servers. Please overhaul the online side of the game when it comes to the connection between player & server. For the past 2 months I've had long periods when the servers aren't available, when FUT cuts out on me and sends me back to the menu or when I'm playing clubs and it cuts out part way through a match for all players. This is the most important fix for next season imo. By all means improve the game in the areas the masses have asked for, but I'd like to see some serious attention paid to making sure we're not going to continually be denied the entire online side of the game.
2) The Menus. It's a very minor thing for many but I'd like to have more fluid (less clunky) menus for next season. For example, I'm in the arena, I press start, the menu appears and it takes me 3 presses of the down button before anything happens. I was trying to setup a game with my brother last week and instead of it moving down to game modes to sort out a lounge session it's so laggy it got stuck on Ultimate Team (after pressing down twice). It did this 3 times in a row. The menu in online games is just as bad, you actually get 15secs to make changes because the other 15secs is taken up trying to move the cursor quickly enough to have a look at your squad and pick the best subs.
Neither of these have really improved at all in the past 3 years. The servers appear to get patched up and then fall apart the following year, the menu has always been laggy (compared to Konami's effort) for as long as I can remember. For those who don't think it's laggy you've probably played FIFA long enough to forgive the unresponsiveness at times.
I don't know how you go about allocating your budget to things on the dev team (it's none of my business), but all I'm asking is that something is done in the remaining months up until release on improving both of these things.
