So I have lost about 10 in a row. When I play the head to head, I am ALWAYS matched up with players ranked at least 500-600 points higher than me. I think if 50,000 people are playing at any one time, the least EA can do is match me up with the same level. I don't think anyone at EA has the courage to respond to this and give a decent answer. Nut up you English *!|||The ranking system is quite fair to be honest, it usually tries levelling you up against someone but if no-one is available then it will try search within 5 level, then 10 level.
My guess is the times you are playing opponents are not available at same level, when you select to play ranking match keep eye on matchmaking page that will usually indicate if it can locate player at your level or whether it increases its search margins
EDIT: Forgot to mention the fact they are 500-600 points ahead of you doesn't necessarily mean there on higher level, as you stated you have lost 10 in a row your level doesn't go down just your points so in fairness you maybe playing players at your level but they have more points than you
