Why has my online ranked match frozen?

My opponent was just stood there with the ball and not really playing, occasionally he'd chase back but most of the time he just stood there. Then the game started freezing like it was waiting for his 30 secs pause time to finish. But it didn't finish. So i played to the final whistle and the players started walking off the pitch but now they're just stood there and the game won't end.
I checked the guys profile and he's not offline, is this some kind of cheat? I don't want to quit to the dashboard|||Its the freeze glitch mate... your opponent has made the game freeze so you quit and he gets the win... hes just appearing offline to make you think everything its normal...|||Thanks, I thought it might be that, wasn't sure if it was a bug or he did it on purpose.
What is the point on doing that though? You don't get rank points if your opponent quits so whats the point in getting the win?
Maybe it is a bug? Doubt it though as he's playing again|||If you make your opponents quit then you get the points and the win. so people do it when they are losing mate
and if he is playing then he quit and it should be fine to leave|||Well that can't be right becuase the game before this one i was winning real madrid 3-0 with Bolton and my opponent quit..but i checked my ranking points and they are still the same!
So if you don't get ranking points when your opponent quits whats the point on glitching :)|||when your opponent quits you do get the points and the win. Firstly ( before daherlihy has to explain it)
Ranked matches arent played on the server, they are P2P networking. That means its your opponents connection and yours no sever assistance.
AND 2ndly it is a cheat
As i can do it ( i know every cheat on Fifa) it freezes the game so it wont count or itll freeze until someone quits
I have messaged the details of how its done to EA so it can be fixed in the future

thats cool its just when people know i can do glitches they send me PMs begging me to tell them how to do it :)
And EA wont patch it this year mate, they dont care anymore as they have our money. so even tho ive given them guides to do the glitches they wont fix it :) :)
